Hidden gem cafe located in Kota Laksamana present the iconic hand-drawn latte art. The cafe provides amazing decorations and a good environment to chill out Ferlyn Jee, the owner of Second Floor Coffee House shares, “Most of the cafes in Melaka are run by non-Malaccans; I’m Malacca-born and raised here”.
As a graduate of Dasein Academy of Art, Jee had a foundation in art hand-drawn coffee art with colorful cartoons such as Shin Chan, Snoopy Dog, etc. Fusion food, fried rice, pasta, Kopitiam cuisines, croissants, milkshakes, and fresh juices with affordable prices to choose from. Also best known for the plethora of mille crepes, there are many other flavors including the very local Gula Melaka, earthy yam, and ethereal Earl Grey.
The shop’s electric decor mixes and matches vintage typewriters and telephones with Peranakan bakul siah, the reds, and blacks of the latter a firm nod to the olden days. Illustrations of baristas brewing coffee share space with children’s picture books.
