The Queen Victoria Fountain was built by the British as a memorial building for the queen during the colonization of the state of Melaka, and the fountain was named Queen Victoria Fountain.

The fountain is surrounded by the Stadthuys building, the Youth Museum, and Christ Church. This architectural style of fountain features concepts from European countries. The Queen Victoria Fountain was built in 1904 and still looks elegant even though it is hundreds of years old. This English heritage building turned out to attract a lot of tourists who stopped by Melaka to take pictures.

It was also said to be one of the last traces left by the British from their colonization of what is now known as Malaysia.

Why was this fountain taken in honor of the queen, not the king? Although basically, the highest ruler of the kingdom was the king the title of the queen was considered to have a strong meaning for the British at that time.
